Manno Sr.
NORTH HILL - Armando Manno Sr., 74, passed away suddenly February 16, 2008. Born in San Nicola, Di Caulonia, Reggio Calabria, Italy, Armando came to the United States June 19, 1948. He lived in Idamay, W.Va. for a few years until finally settling down in Akron in 1952. Armando worked for the city of Akron in 1974 until his retirement in 1995. He started Manno & Sons Lawn Service in 1975 and was a faithful member of St. Anthony Church. Although Armando had a rewarding life, the time he spent with his wife, children and grandchildren were his most prized possession. He loved making homemade wine and meats and gardening, routinely giving away the fruits of his labors. He was also an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time on his computer keeping in touch with his family in Italy. Armando is preceded in death by his parents, Cosimo and Angela (Chiera) Manno; brother, Ottavio Manno; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Joanne and Joseph Barbuto. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Carmela; children, Angela (Robert) DeVitis, Joanne (Tom) Boyd, Cosimo (Susan) Manno, Josephine (Rocco) Gallo, Joseph (Tammy) Manno and Armando (Laura) Manno Jr.; grandchildren, Amanda (Dave), Nicholas (JoEllen), Daniel, Gia, Christina, Vincent, Jacqueline, Joseph, Zachary, Gino, Marissa and Noah; sister, Emma Roccisano; sister-in-law, Anna Maria Manno; nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles, Carmen and Mary and Dominic and Vi Rizzo; special cousin, Nick Demasi. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, 10 a.m. at
St. Anthony Church, 83 Mosser Place, Akron with Rev. Father James Ragnoni
celebrant. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at HENNESSY-BAGNOLI
