Jane Mick
Bette Jane Mick passed away peacefully on November 12, 2007 after a long and happy life, Matriarch of a large and loving family.
She was born in Akron, Ohio on July 13, 1916 to Lloyd and Irene Denning. She attended North High in Akron and graduated with the class of 1935.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Scott Mick, Sr., who worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for over 25 years; her sister, Harriette Gallagher of New York City; and brothers-in-law, Barnard P. Gallagher of New York City and Robert M. Paddison of Cuyahoga Falls. She is survived by her siblings, Jeanette Paddison of Cuyahoga Falls, Lloyd Denning and his wife, Bonnie of Oneida, New York, and Delores Johnson and her husband, Grant of Colorado Springs, Colorado; her son, Thomas Scott Mick, Jr. and his wife Carolyn of Houston, Texas; and her daughter, Deborah Block and her husband, Monty of Aurora, Colorado. She had eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Community Caregivers of Green and the Palliative Care Unit of Akron City Hospital for their excellent and compassionate care.
Private graveside services for the family will be held at Glendale Cemetery on Thursday afternoon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bette's name to the Foundation for Widows and Orphans of Central Asia, 14190 E. Jewell Ave., Unit 10, Aurora, Colorado 80012.
