Burton W. Greenwald

Burton W. Greenwald, 86, died April 21, 2008.

Born in Cleveland, he was a life resident of this area. He was a graduate of Western Reserve College where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and served as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. A 50 year member of Temple Israel, he was also a member of Adoniram Lodge #517, Yusef Khan Grotto, Tadmor Temple, a 32nd degree Mason, Valley of Akron, President of the Akron Dealers Association on two occasions, President of the Ohio Dealers Association in 1968 and served on the G.M. President's Dealer Advisory Council the same year. A Time Magazine Quality Dealer Award recipient, he was the owner of Burt Greenwald Chevrolet since 1959.

Preceded in death by wife, Lois; sister, Elaine Schoenberger; and brother, James; he is survived by daughters, Gretchen (Harter) March and Jill (Brian) O'Hara; grandchildren, Kaitlin and Ryan O'Hara; nieces and nephews; and special caring friend of 25 years, Connie Johnston.

The family would like to give special thanks to caregivers, Bobbie Conley and Sandra Stephan.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Rabbi David A. Lipper officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
