David J. Swejk

David J. Swejk, 71, of Akron, passed away at Akron City Hospital after a short illness.

He was born and raised in Akron. David graduated from Akron North High School. He later retired from General Tire after 28 years as Systems Programmer. Currently he was the groundskeeper at Sunny Hill Golf Course in Brimfield. David was president of PNA Lodge #1099, Polish American Citizens Club and PRCUA Lodge #977. He was also president of G.A.B.P.A. Traveling Seniors League and member and past president of the Senior All-Star Traveling League.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marilyn. David is survived by his wife of 51 years, Susan; daughter, Mary Beth Swejk, sons, Michael (Laure), Rick (Terryl), and Eddie (Chrysa) Swejk; grandchildren, Lindsay, Campisi, Patrick, Katie, Andrea, Zachary and Ryan Swejk; sister, Barbara (Tom) Smith; brother, Jerry (Judi) Swejk; and many other family members and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Oncology Dept. of 7 East, Dr. Bachtel, Dr. Reed and Dr. Trochelman, and also the Akron Nephrology Assoc.
