Gary D. Sanders, age 62, of Senecaville, Ohio, died Oct. 24, 2007 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio.

Born July 11, 1945 in Cambridge, OH to Kathleen Potts Sanders and the late Walter H. Sanders, Gerry grew up on North Hill in Akron and graduated from Hower High as a draftsman. He worked for the City of Akron in that field, in coal mines including Powhattan Point No.6, enjoyed fishing and boating, was a member of the Guernsey County Fish and Game Association, served as an EMT in the Guernsey County area and was a firefighter for the Senecaville Volunteer Fire Department.

Preceded in death by his father, Walter H. Sanders and brother, James William Sanders, he leaves his wife, Laina; son, Gerry D. II; daughter, Deana Palmer; stepsons, Brian and Kenny Nicholas; stepdaughter, Bridget Dicks; 10 grandchildren; mother, Kathleen Bell Sanders; brother, Kevin E. Sanders; sisters, Vicki Sanders, Megen Sanders and Lori Smith; and 10 grandchildren.
