Henrietta Smith

STOW -- Henrietta Smith, 83, passed away April 7, 2008 at her residence.

Henrietta was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, ``Casey" (Clarence); her father, Stanley Valndza; mother, Josephine; and brother, Alfred. Henrietta is survived by son, David of Toledo; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Harriet of Silver Lake; daughter and special caregiver, Patricia of Stow; grandchildren, Michelle (Jason) Bond of Monona, Wis., Heidi (Dave) Moulton of Flower Mound, Texas; great-grandchild, Nathan Bond; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Henrietta was born in Akron, grew up on North Hill, attended North High School, taught Comptometer at Firestone Tire and resided in Stow for 46 years. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, Stow Sunshiners and PLAV Ladies Auxiliary Chapter 32. Henrietta enjoyed gardening, euchre and pinochle, along with watching the Indians, Cavs, Buckeyes and Browns.

Friends may call Thursday, 5 to 8 p.m. at Redmon Funeral Home. Mass of the Christian Burial Friday, 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Fr. Paul Rosing celebrant. Burial at Stow Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Holy Family Endowment Fund or to Good Neighbors.
