McFadden
Isabel McFadden, 83, of Akron, passed away
February 1, 2008 at Rockynol Retirement Community.
Isabel was born on August 15, 1924 in Akron,
Ohio. She graduated from North High School and received her bachelor's
degree from Akron University and her master's degree in social work
from Boston College. After completing her education, she returned to
Akron and worked for the Catholic Service League. While raising her
family, Isabel worked part time arranging admissions to the then
newly-established St. Edward Home. Later she worked for Children's
Services, from which she retired in 1994. After retirement she
volunteered at Francesca Hall and the Decker Special Needs School in
Barberton.
Isabel was preceded in death by her husband,
Judge Donald B. McFadden; her parents, Andrea and Carmela Vinciguerra;
her sisters, Anne Thorp and Mary Lyons; and her brother, John
Vinciguerra. She is survived by her sons, Charles (Patty) McFadden,
Christopher McFadden (Linda Hyde) and David McFadden; her
grandchildren, Ryan, Molly, and Jonathan; her sister, Natalie
(William) Cook; her brother, Ralph (Esther) Vinciguerra; and nieces,
nephews and family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m.
Thursday, February 7, 2008 at St. Vincent Catholic Church, 164 W.
Market Street. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call from
5 to 8 p.m. at Hummel Funeral Home Copley, 3475 Copley Rd., Copley, on
Wednesday, February 6, 2008. Memorial donations may be made to the
donor's charity of choice.
