John A. Pircio

STOW -- John A. Pircio, 88, died October 23, 2007.

Born October 11, 1919 in Cleveland (Little Italy), he moved to Akron in 1936 and was a 1938 graduate of North High School. Known by many as J.P., he was very quick witted. His passions in life were listening to Jazz music and golfing for over sixty years. John started as a caddy master at Portage Country Club and won a Class C Championship in the B.F. Goodrich Golf Tournament. He was a former member of the Sicilian Club. John retired from the B.F. Goodrich Company as an inspector in the belt division.

Preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Catherine; brother, Joe; first wife, Josephine (nee LeBar) Pircio and second wife, Rose (nee Urbano) Patsy Pircio; he is survived by his sisters, Ersilia Fry, Ginny Baudas and longtime companion, Steve Taylor of Cuyahoga Falls, and Lorie Putt of Stow; daughters, Francine (Daniel) Bishop and Toni Marie Patsy of Stow; devoted grandchildren, Anthony (Samara) Bishop of California, Angela (Mark) Nelson, Alicia and Nicole Bishop, Leah Patsy; two great-grandchildren, Haley and Owen Nelson; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 A.M. SATURDAY at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 83 Mosser Place. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23rd St., FRIDAY, 5 to 8 p.m. (Billow FALLS Chapel)
