Leonard A. Karadin

STOW -- Leonard Anthony Karadin, 82, died at his home June 24, 2007.

Born in Akron on July 25, 1924 to Joseph and Mary Karadin, he graduated from North High School then enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in the Pacific Theater at the end of World War II. Upon returning to the Akron area, Leonard worked in the fastener business, retiring form Fastener Maintenance Supply Co.

Preceded in death by his wife, Maxine, he is survived by his children, JoAnne Karadin of Stow, Kenneth (Jean) Karadin of Pensacola, Fla., Diana Karadin of Stow, and Susan (Lynn) Sample of Columbus, Ga.; also niece, Barbara Bratton, who has lived with the family for many years. Leonard is also survived by grandchildren, Benjamin (Mojca) Porter of Savannah, Ga., Jessica (Michael) Peyton of Columbus, Ga.; brother, George (Marjorie) Karadin; sister-in-law, Mary (Joseph) Karadin, both of Akron; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Robert Netzley and Harbor Light Hospice.
