Pete J. Cistone, 83, left us on Christmas Eve 2006, to be forever united with the Lord and his beloved family who went before him.
Pete was a lifelong resident of Akron, Ohio and lived most of his years in North Hill. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a combat veteran of World War II. He retired after 40 years of service with Genearl Tire and Gencorp. Pete was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family. He will surely be missed by his many friends and youth, to whom he devoted countless hours coaching and serving CYO Athletic programs at St. Anthony Parish and St. Vincent - St. Mary High School. He was a remarkable gardener, a creative woodworker and a darn good wine maker. He could always be recognized by his "infectious" grin. He loved spending time with family, grandchildren and pets.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph and mother, Mary. He is survived by his devoted wife of sixty years, Irene; his daughter, Maria; his sons, Joseph (Brenda) and Michael (Geri); and his cherished eight grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Ann Marie (Jim) Huntsman; his brother, John (Sally) Cistone and scores of loving nieces and nephews.
"We'll miss you Pops."
