
Robert Buckmaster
Robert Buckmaster was born in Wilmington, Delaware on October 25, 1909 and moved to Akron at the age of six. He graduated from North High School and attended the University of Akron for one year. He used his mechanical talents for creating and maintaining machinery all of his life, a good part of which was spent as a machinist at Spangler Candy Company in Bryan, Ohio.
He was predeceased by his first wife of 44 years, Mildred Fuhrman Buckmaster; and their son, Bruce Buckmaster who died at age 36; he is survived by his wife of nearly 20 years, Irene; daughter, Sandra Unger Barrett of Healdsburg, Calif.; granddaughter, Kelli Halverson; and great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Kevin and Hannah Halverson; step daughers, Carol Dezso and Marjorie Green; all of the Akron area. Robert was a member of the Woodland United Methodist Church in west Akron.
Services will be held at the Bokas Funeral Home,3653 W. Market St., Fairlawn, Ohio Tuesday May 1, 2007 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ray Kovach officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Memorial Park. (Bokas funeral Home 330-666-3089)
