Violet Underwood Corl

Violet Underwood Corl, 89, passed on September 7, 2007 at the Ledges at Rockynol.

Born in Brimfield, Ohio to the late Harold and Emma Strecker Underwood, May, 10, 1918, she was a resident of Akron since 1932. A graduate of North High School, she was an employee of the Anderson Rubber Company, retiring in 1967 as secretary treasurer after thirty years of service. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of Goodyear Employees Club.

Preceded in death by husband, Francis "Sam" Corl; stepfather, George Long; sisters, Dorothy Randall and Virginia Apichell; nephew, William Dellapa; she is survived by brother-in-law, Frank Randall; nephew, David (Avis) Randall; niece, Linda (Wright) Parkes; three great-nieces; two great-great-nephews; one great-great-niece; and many cousins. Vie is also survived by stepdaughters, Sally (Mike) Austin, Janice (Dick) Penland; and her dearest friend, Melba Stubbs.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. FRIDAY at Restland Cemetery, Brimfield, Ohio, with Pastor David Scharf officiating. Friends may call at the Billow FALLS Chapel FRIDAY from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Ledges at Rockynol, 1150 W.
