Virginia Mary Conti (nee Tersigni)

Virginia Mary Conti, 84, passed away peacefully Oct. 29, 2005, surrounded by her family.

Born in Akron to the late Alessio and Rosa (Altobelli) Tersigni, Virginia lived on North Hill all of her life. She graduated from Akron North High School in 1939, and was a faithful member of St. Bernard Church. She worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. until 1945, when she retired to care for her husband and their three children. Caring for her family was Virginia's number one priority. she loved to cook, attend her grandchildren's sporting events and, in her later years, she would travel throughout Europe, including Italy, to visit and spend time with her relatives. Virginia also spent time helping out within various organizations, including the Carovillese Society's Women's Auxiliary, the Cuyahoga Falls Widow and Widower Group, and a poll worker at the Board of Elections. For the last nine years, she spent her winters in Ft. Pierce, Fla.

Along with her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Angelo, in May 1991; sister, Mary Grimaldi; brothers, Mario and Louis Tersigni. She is survived by her loving children, Edward (Mary) Conti of Akron, Barbara (Gregory) Tesniarz of Uniontown, and James (Mary) Conti of Hartville; grandchildren, Kevin, David, Jonathan, Julie, Jimmy, Jeffrey, and Kristen; sister, Jennie Marvin of Akron; and many other loving family and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, 10 a.m., at St. Bernard Church in Akron, with Rev. Paul Schindler, celebrant. Virginia's final resting place will be Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at HENNESSY-BAGNOLI FUNERAL HOME, 936 N. MAIN ST., AKRON.
