Wayne A. Himelright

Wayne A. Himelright, 85, passed away on February 1, 2008, after a year long battle with cancer.

Wayne was born in Akron, and lived all of his life in the Akron-Northampton Township, Cuyahoga Falls area. He graduated from North High School and married Vada A. O'Neil in 1947. Wayne and Vada were members of the Trinity United Church of Christ (Akron). Wayne was a member of Northampton Grange, and had served on the Summit County 4-H Fair Board. In addition to working as a dairy farmer, Wayne was employed by the Woodridge School System and Blossom Music Center, retiring in 1988.

Preceded in death by his wife, Vada; and sister, Jane E. Fleming; Wayne is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Harry and Gay Himelright of Cuyahoga Falls; daughter, Carol Himelright of Cuyahoga Falls; daughter and son-in-law, Diane (Himelright) and Joel Mellinger of Silver Lake; grandchildren, Justin, Kevin and Brian Himelright, and Sarah Mellinger; brother-in-law, Wendell Fleming of Mansfield; several nieces and nephews, as well as many friends in the Northampton and Sugarcreek areas.

Services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23rd St., Cuyahoga Falls, with Rev. Eloy Pacheco officiating. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to The Chapel/Missions, 135 Fir Hill, Akron, Ohio 44304.
